The Pulteney Fire Department is proud to be celebrating 75 years of outstanding service to our community.
To commensurate this achievement the fire department will be hosting a community event on Sunday, August 28 2011. This event is open to the public and we encourage all ages to come out and celebrate with us.

The Pulteney Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will host the annual Fire Queen contest on Wednesday, May 18th at 6pm at the firehouse. For more information please contact Amanda Ballam at 522-4408.

The Pulteney Fire Department will host an open house/recruitment drive on April 9th from 2pm to 6pm. Tours of the firehouse and of our equipment. Find out what being a firefighter and emt is all about. Recruiting men and women from 14 to 18 for our Junior Fire Department and anyone over 18 for our firefighter program. The Pulteney Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will hold their Annual Penny Social on Saturday, February 12th from 1 to 2pm

The Pulteney Fire Department will host a Spaghetti Benefit Dinner for Ernie Saltsman on Saturday, January 15th from 4 to 7pm. Cost is $7

12-8-10 It is with great sadness that we have to announce that Ernie has passed away.  The dinner will still be held this coming Saturday January 15th.  Proceeds from the dinner will be given to Ernie’s wife to help with medical/funeral expenses.

The Pulteney Fire Department held its Annual Banquet on November 13th at the Pulteney Fire Hall, in Pulteney, New York. Approximately 60 fire department members and guests attended, along with County and Town officials.
Jim Sprague was given the Pulteney Volunteer Fire Department 2010 Firefighter of the Year Award. This award is given annually to a Pulteney Volunteer Fire Department member who has gone above and beyond the scope of his/her normal fire department duties in the past year. He received this award due to his work with the organization, training and mechanical assistance.
Annually years of service awards are given to members as they reach their 5-year anniversaries. The following members were recognized; Jason Tears 15 years, John Crane 25 years and Charlie Zimmerman 35 years. Each member was recognized with a certificate and service pin.
Training highlights from 2010 were also noted by Chief Ken Forenz. Many certifications were attained and training programs attended by firefighters were recognized.
This years Awards Banquet not only recognized the members of the fire department but the families, friends and relatives who make it possible for the department members to do what they do.

The Ladies Auxiliary will hold it’s Annual Children’s Halloween Party at the Pulteney Firehouse on Sunday, October 31 from 4 to 6pm for children from the Town of Pulteney. There will be a pizza party, games and a costume contest.
